1958

             On December 9, 1958, “Mongolian Committee to interact with foreign countries through Friendship and Culture” officially formed and became the origin of Peace and Friendship Organization.

1959

             On April 27, 1959, the Committee renamed as Executive Committee for Peace and Friendship Organizations of Mongolia.

1966

             On March 7, 1966, Executive Committee for Peace and Friendship Organizations of Mongolia renamed as Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations of People’s Republic of Mongolia. Since then the Federation has established as a central public organization.

1967

             On September 29, 1967, according to the Council of Ministers of MPRP’s Act (No. 294), Peace and Friendship Fund was established and in 1969-1971 it financed a construction work of Peace and Friendship Palace. On August 14, 1971, the Peace and Friendship Palace was officially open, becoming Federation’s own property.

1973

             According to the Politburo of MPRP’s Central Committee’s Act (No. 165 of 1973), the Executive Committee of Mongolian Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations upgraded to Ministerial level.

1979

             According to the Politburo of MPRP’s Central Committee’s Act (No. 93 of March 7, 1979), Mongolian Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations Badge of Honor was created to award Mongolian or foreign nationals, political and social meritorious persons in recognition for their hard work in developing and strengthening peace and friendship among nations.
In 1979, “Golden Polaris” medal was awarded to the Federation, on the occasion of 30th Anniversary of Mongolian Peace Movement and 20th Anniversary of Mongolian Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations.

1989

             The V Convention of the Mongolian Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations held in 1989 and underlined that “the Federation’s activity is facing reform and modernization”.

1990

             Since 1990, Peace and Friendship Organizations of Mongolia started operating independently and began the process of reform and modernization.

1991

             On March 5, 1991, Special Session of the Federation’s Convention approved the new Charter and declared that the Federation is a self-governing public organization and shall act independently, free from subordination to any political parties.

1997

             On November 3, 1997, General Assembly of the Federation renewed the Charter in accordance with the Mongolian Law on Non-Governmental Organizations and defined the Federation as a non-governmental organization serving for the society.

2005

             The General Assembly of the Federation held in 2005 has identified the “Basic Guidelines of the activities of the Union for the Coming Years”. The Federation has been operating under “Federation of Organizations” framework. According to the new Charter, the Federation formed into The Union for Peace and Friendship, Mongolia and started functioning as a public organization, open for any nationals and individuals, domestic or foreign.

2013

             On March 14, 2013, the General Assembly renamed the Union as “Peace and Friendship Organization of Mongolia” and approved the new Charter, appointing Mr. Zagdjav D., former Parliament member, PhD and Professor, as the President of the Peace and Friendship Organization of Mongolia.
